Man to face attempted murder charge following stabbing in Mitchell

A 25-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 17 April 2019) charged with attempted murder.

About 4.30am yesterday (Tuesday, 16 April 2019), police attended Grimwade Street, Mitchell following reports of a stabbing.

Two men were treated by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene and subsequently transported to hospital.

About 5.15pm, after receiving information from the public, police attended a fast food restaurant in Holt and arrested a 25-year-old Evatt man in relation to the stabbing.

He has been charged with attempted murder, intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm, recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm, and possess drug of dependence. Police will oppose bail.
