Upcoming night works on Gundaroo Drive from Sunday night

Road users are advised there will be a temporary road closure at the intersection of Gundaroo Drive and Mirrabei Drive from Sunday night, 14 October 2018, as work continues on the road’s duplication. The closure will be in place over several nights.

The first stage of the duplication will provide two lanes in both directions between Gungahlin Drive and Anthony Rolfe Avenue and includes a new signalised intersection at Gundaroo Drive and Mirrabei Drive/Anthony Rolfe Avenue.

Location and timing of temporary road closure

The intersection of Gundaroo Drive and Mirrabei Drive/Anthony Rolfe Avenue will be closed to general traffic in all directions. Local traffic heading east on Gundaroo Drive will be directed north. Local traffic heading west on Gundaroo Drive will be also be directed north.

Work will be carried out as night works between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am from 14 October 2018 until 16 October 2018 inclusive. In the event of unexpected delays, works will continue between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am on the following nights.

Detours

During the work at the intersection of Gundaroo Drive and Mirrabei Drive, road users will be detoured via Gungahlin Drive, Horse Park Drive, Katherine Avenue, Shoalhaven Avenue and The Valley Avenue.

Effects on traffic

  • Minor delays are expected.
  • Barriers as well as warning and diversion signs will be erected to alert people to the closure.
  • Drivers are asked to be mindful of the changed traffic arrangements and adhere to the work zone speed limits.
