The new seat of Yerrabi which is predominantly Gungahlin suburbs will be represented by 5 members after the next election. Currently there are two members in the current seat of Molonglo who reside in Gungahlin, Labor member Meegan Fitzharris and Liberal Alistair Coe. The new electorate make up will give Gungahlin much greater representation in the Assembly.

Over the weekend Labor members voted on who will represent them at the next ACT Election in 2016. I was recently informed by Mr Coe that the Liberals won’t announce their nominees until around April next year.

The Labor nominees for Yerrabi are, Meegan Fitzharris, current member for Molonglo. Deepak Raj Gupta, President, Australia India Business Council ACT. Jayson Hinder, Chairman, Bendigo Community Bank, Suzanne Orr, Public Servant and Michael Pettersson, Industrial Officer, CFMEU.

Last month the Greens nominated the following people for Yerrabi, Veronica Wensing, Andrew Braddock and Tobias Holm.

So far we only know of one confirmed independent, Andrew Dewson.
