On the morning of 14th of August members of the local cycling community paid tribute to cyclist Robbie Williams on the Gungahlin Drive.

12 months earlier Robbie, whilst riding with a group of cyclists on Gungahlin Drive suffered a sudden fatal cardiac arrhythmia (an irregular heartbeat or abnormal heart rhythm). At 6.25am, ACT Policing received reports from ACT Ambulance Service that a cyclist was injured on Gungahlin Drive. He was taken to the Calvary Hospital where he died.

On the anniversary of Robbie’s passing a group of cyclists gathered on Gungahlin Drive where Robbie had collapsed and held a remembrance ceremony for him. A decorated bike was left at the spot as a memorial.
