Each Christmas, Myer releases a Charity Bear, and this years bear, Anthony has a special link to Gungahlin. This year the Myer Christmas Bear is named Anthony in honour of Dainere Anthoney.

Dainere passed away in 2013 from a paediatric brain tumour after battling courageously for four years.

Dainere was a passionate collector of the Myer Christmas Bear and Santa gave her a bear every year from 1998, her birth year. Her family have continued her collection since her passing. Dainere’s favourite bear was Theodore. He accompanied Dainere into every procedure and it was also her wish that Theodore be buried with her, to be her forever companion.

$1 from every sale of Charity Bear Anthony will go towards the Myer Community Fund, bringing hope to vulnerable women and children this Christmas.

You can purchase Anthony in-store at Myer or online at https://www.myer.com.au/p/charity-bear-anthony-2018-611029000
