ANZAC Day in Gungahlin

If you are heading out to the Australian War Memorial for the Dawn Service there is plenty of options back in Gungahlin to continue remembrance for this special day.

The District in Crace will be open from 6:30am serving breakfast.

Casey Jones in Casey will be open from 7am serving Rum charged coffee, 2 fried eggs, bacon, lamb chop, port sausage, roasted muchrooms, potato rosti and a damper roll. All for $21.

The George Harcourt Inn in Gold Creek will be open from 7am serving a hearty cooked breakfast. Two up will start from 12 noon where there will be live music, spits burger shack and Caravan Morrison Bar.

The Gungahlin Lakes Club will kick off their annual tradition of Two-Up from midday and offer all-day snack, dining and café options from 10am. This year’s events will also be complimented by a well-respected call of the Last Post, performed live on the trumpet by Alex Ross. Performances will be conducted at 1:00pm. From 3:20pm the annual ANZAC Day Clash between Collingwood and Essendon will take over the big screen for those dedicated to the traditional ANZAC day match. Siren Bar & Restaurant in Gungahlin will be open from 7am for a $15 gunfire breakfast with a free shot of rum if you’re wearing medals. Two up starts at midday.

Stonehouse Restaurant next to Eagle Hawk Hotel on Federal Highway will be open 12 nooon – 9pm serving standard lunch menu between 12 and 2:30pm and a shortened menu to 9pm. Eagle Hawk Hotel is running two up between 12 noon and 6pm.

It is recommended to make bookings at these locations.
