Works associated with the construction of the new Gungahlin Bus Station are scheduled to begin next week and last until early August 2017. To allow the work to be completed safely, temporary road closures will be put in place on sections of Gungahlin Place and Hibberson Street.

The construction of the new Gungahlin Bus Station is part of the Government’s investment in stage one of the light rail network which will link the Gungahlin town centre to Civic. The new Gungahlin Bus Station will provide public transport customers with a connection between buses and light rail upon commencement of light rail stage one in 2018.

Location of closures

  • Gungahlin Place East will be closed southbound between Hibberson Street and Efkarpidis Street
  • Hibberson Street will be closed eastbound between Gungahlin Place West and Gungahlin Place East

Timing of closures

The roads will be closed from Monday 22 May 2017 to Saturday 5 August 2017, weather permitting.

Effects on traffic

  • Minor delays are expected, detours will be in place
  • Traffic management will be in place to assist the movement of vehicles
