While crowd numbers were considered down from past years, ACT Policing has praised the behaviour of the large crowd which attended the Skyfire fireworks event over Lake Burley Griffin last night (Saturday, March 14).

Around nine missing children were reported during the evening, down from 30 last year, and were reunited with their parents using the help of the free identity wristbands handed out by ACT Policing at the event.

Police took eight juveniles into protective custody for alcohol-related issues and two for minor cannabis use. These young people were dealt with by a special Youth Reception Team.

One adult male was taken into custody for intoxication and one for selling alcohol to minors.
