Police investigate property damage in Amaroo

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after a stolen ‘bobcat’ excavator was used to cause extensive damage at the Amaroo District Playing Fields early yesterday morning (Sunday, 11 June 2017).

The excavator was stolen from a nearby building site and used to cause a large amount of property damage to infrastructure around the playing fields, including damaging the canteen, trees, bollards and fencing.

After the damage was done the excavator was driven into a nearby pond.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to the property damage or information about the driver of the excavator to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can also be provided online via https://act.crimestoppers.com.au/.
