Police investigate fatal collision in Palmerston

ACT Policing is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Palmerston on Friday, 23 February 2018, in which a child has died.

About 6.20pm, police responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a child on the intersection of Spec Place and Bimberri Crescent, Palmerston.

ACT Ambulance Service attended the scene and transported the child to hospital.

Unfortunately, the child died yesterday (Saturday, 24 February 2018) as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

This is the third fatality on Canberra’s roads this year.

Police ask that any witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
