Police call for witnesses to light rail assault

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault onboard a Canberra Light Rail vehicle on Friday, 21 June 2019.

About 4.15pm, a man boarded a Gungahlin-bound light rail vehicle at the Alinga Street station before allegedly assaulting a Canberra Metro staff member. The man later exited the light rail at the Gungahlin light rail station.

Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in relation to this incident, however are still calling for anyone who witnessed the incident who hasn’t already spoken to police to come forward.
