Today Chief Minister Katy Gallagher confirmed the Gungahlin Leisure Centre is on track to be completed in April 2014. The operator will then require a couple of weeks to take over the facility and set it up. At this stage it is expected to open to the public in May 2014.
The announcement for the successful tenderer is expected in the next couple of weeks.
ACT Sports and Recreation will be making a presentation about the Gungahlin Leisure Centre at the Gungahlin Community Council Meeting on Wednesday 12th February. The meeting will be held at the Gungahlin library starting at 7:30pm.
The Gungahlin Leisure Centre will include:
- 50 metre 8 lane pool;
- 25 metre pool;
- Gymnasium;
- Dry fitness rooms;
- Cafe; and
- Childcare facilities
