Today the Environment and Planning Directorate in partnership with the National Capital Authority and Canberra Fisherman’s Club released approximately 93,000 Golden Perch and 16,190 Murray Cod fingerlings across a number of Canberra waterways including Yerrabi Pond.

Recreational fishers and the local waterways will benefit from the release of the Golden Perch and Murray Cod fingerlings which follows a program of annual releases of Murray Cod and Golden Perch that are outlined in the ACT Fish Stocking Plan.

Stocking our lakes provides both environmental and recreation benefits by increasing the number of native fish in our waterways and giving the people of Canberra greater opportunities for fishing closer to home.
