On Saturday night at around quarter to six ACT Fire and Rescue and the ACT Rural Fire Service were called to a grass fire burning at Gungaderra Grasslands Nature Reserve near Palmerston and Crace. The fire was located near Wambo Close in Palmerston.

Twelve units responded to the incident in addition to a Commander. The fire was burning at a slow rate but winds fanned the fire which did see flame heights reach up to 3m.

Advice was issued to say there was no risk to nearby properties and the fire was extinguished just after 7pm.
