Civil works has been completed on the site for the Casey Group Centre with construction expected to commence in May 2014 with a scheduled opening of September 2015.

The Casey Group Centre will comprise of retail, community, commercial and residential developments with the possibility of future developments if there is sufficient demand.

Block 3, Section 131 Casey is proposed for a development in the Casey Group Centre as a neighbourhood retail centre to be named “Casey Marketplace”. Casey Marketplace will comprise of two supermarkets, Suparbarn and Aldi, specialty retail areas, amenites and loading docks. This centre will be approximately 12,000m2. The proposal includes both on-site car park adjoining the centre and additional parking at Block 5, Section 132. There will be two main car parks, one with 90 spaces the second with 332 spaces.

It is expected the costs to build the Casey Marketplace is to be approximately $19.4Million.

An option will also be accommodated to allow for a third supermarket site on the surface carpark being built as part of this stage. This third supermarket could be developed three years after Supabarn and Aldi open. The third supermarket would be approximately 2,000m2. The development of a third supermarket is not expected to impact much on traffic in the area as it has been allowed for in the initial design. Additional car park spaces would be required however they can be addressed through structured or basement car parks.

Within the broad Casey Group Centre it is proposed to also accommodate a lawn bowls club with 2 synthetic bowling greens with the option to extend to a third in the future. Space will be allowed for a commercial or community facility to accommodate future growth.

A service station, Seven Eleven will also be located as part of the Casey Group Centre close the entry off Clarrie Hermes Drive.

Further down the road in Springbank Rise a Village Centre is being developed with civil works almost complete. There will be a medical centre, child care centre and a local convenience store. Construction is expected to start soon with these facilities completed in early 2015.
