Construction work on the extension of Ernest Cavanagh Street between Hinder Street and Manning Clark Crescent is about to commence. This project will improve traffic flow and safety in the area and provide access to part of the eastern side of Gungahlin Town Centre.

The upgrade will be completed in late 2018 and will include:

  • A new section of road with 1 lane in each direction between Hinder Street and Manning Clark Crescent
  • Footpaths on both sides of the road and pedestrian crossings
  • On street parking bays
  • Utility services to blocks adjacent to the road

The construction works for this project are scheduled to occur between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. The contractor will minimise noise and dust as much as possible, and works will be staged to reduce impacts on local residents wherever possible.

During the construction period, motorists, cyclists and pedestrians may experience some delays on Hinder Street and Kate Crace Street. This will be managed in conjunction with other projects under construction in the area.
