Another big year for Gungahlin in 2016 with more development starting, finishing and being announced. It was also another big year here at My Gungahlin HQ. We had a goal to reach 15,000 Facebook followers by the end of the year. It does look like we will fall just short of that but will start 2017 with a bang!

We started a campaign about the illegal dumping at charity bins that has seen some changes implemented for the better. Gungahlin, this is not charity, it is dumping
Announcement of multimillion-dollar precinct slated for Amaroo tipped to become Gungahlin hub.
Announcment of High-rise Infinity Towers set to change the face of Gungahlin Town Centre
We got a sneak peak of Casey Market Town before it was opened.
The Convoy for Cancer Families was held.
Franklin the Gungahlin Maremma made international news after the Canberra Times published an article Up close and personal with Franklin the roaming Maremma sheepdog of Gungahlin

The ACT Government announced the successful bidder for light rail stage one.
Canberra Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance welcomed in the New Lunar Year
On 10th February a earthquake was reported at Wee Jasper and felt in Gungahlin.
On the 15th February, tragically Bradyn Dillon was taken from this world too early. The Tara Costigan Foundation helped pay for Bradyn’s funeral costs to ease that burden from his mother. We know how much Bradyn’s death touched the whole Gungahlin community. Many people asked us at the time what they could do to help.
