Local Gungahlin resident Lisa Park is eager to establish an Assistance Dogs program in Canberra and trying to garner support from interested locals.

Would you be interested in being a puppy raiser, puppy sitter or have skills to be a puppy trainer?

Do you love dogs but are unable to commit for 14 years, or would you simply like to help? Perhaps you are a Defence family with a new posting and would like a pet whilst here? Could you raise a puppy in your home for up to 16 months to help give someone a better quality of life? Before Assistance Dogs Australia can establish a group of puppies to be raised in a location remote from Sydney they need not only raisers, but also sitters and a trainer willing to come on board as part of their program.

Lisa told us “I am eager to get involved and am trying to pull together a group of like minded people who would be able to take on these roles for Assistance Dogs Australia. At this stage they have not had much interest from people in the ACT. I would like to change that.”

If you are interested or just curious please check out their website Assistance Dogs Australia and fill in an application today to see if you qualify.

If you would like to know more comment on this post or get in touch with us and we can pass your details onto Lisa.
